StubHub is set to introduce a whole new element to the ticket buying experience in the UK with the launch of the Virtual View feature. Providing everyone with a view from the seat they are about to purchase, the seat-mapping feature will give users a crisp and clear 360° view via the app from their mobile phone.

Following a successful launch in the US, Virtual View will be available to use in the UK via the StubHub app on 25th June 2016 for Anthony Joshua’s fight against Dominic ‘Trouble’ Breazeale at London’s The O2 Arena. Other venues to feature the option will include; Wembley Stadium, The SSE Wembley Arena, Stadium of Light – Sunderland, Royal Albert Hall, Twickenham Stadium, Goodison Park – Liverpool and White Hart Lane – London.

Upcoming events such as Beyoncé at Wembley Stadium on the 2nd and 3rd July, as well as matches on Wimbledon Centre Court will all be able to be viewed through the app amongst many other future upcoming events – ensuring that die-hard fans get the best experience when acquiring their tickets through StubHub.

Virtual View builds on StubHub’s static “View From Section,” and lets users pan around the stadium from seat regions. Users can see the experience with or without goggles. Without goggles, users will move their phone around to see different angles; with goggles, users will put their phones into the cardboard and pan their heads for the angles. StubHub’s Virtual View automatically configures itself and optimises for different types of cardboard viewers. Different cardboard viewers have different properties, such as primary button type, screen lens distance, Inter-lens distance and screen vertical alignment. Virtual View accommodates for all of these differences, meaning that it will function the same, regardless of the viewer that you will use.

The feature aims to provide users with more information prior to transaction in order to help inform their decision. This is done using StubHub’s 3D models, which are simpler than actual photos and provide for a better user experience.

Estanis Martín de Nicolás, StubHub’s International General Manager said; “StubHub is committed to bringing the best possible ticket experience to its customers and we are proud to be the first ticketing company to utilise Virtual Reality in the UK. The Virtual View feature allows customers to get a much better sense of the real view that they will experience from each seat before they buy it. With a huge summer of sport on the horizon and a host of great gigs coming up, we are excited to be launching Virtual View and to help our customers make an informed purchasing decision.”

So whether you are a die-hard rocker or seasoned footie supporter, StubHub wants to ensure that you get the best possible service and experience when buying your ticket through the website and app.
