The acclaimed work of Syrian-born and Brooklyn-based artist and Greenfield Prize Finalist Diana Al-Hadid has been shown in exhibits all over the Country and the world. Al-Hadid has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Sculpture Magazine, Interview and many other publications. The L.A. Times called her work “beautiful and technically marvelous.”
Lorenzo Hurtado Segovia was born in Mexico and lives in CA. He says his work “hinges on the tension between convention and innovation,” … the art I make incorporates myriad materials and techniques that often reference my own childhood in Mexico, including beads, embroidery, weaving, paper, and carpentry.” The L.A. Times said Segovia’s work “invites visitors into a world where nothing sits still — least of all, your imagination.”
Then at 8 pm it’s off to the beach for a reading and book signing by New Orleans-based writer, Sheryl St. Germain. The author of two collections of poetry, memoirs and a recent anthology, “Words Without Walls: Writers on Addiction, Violence and Incarceration,” St. Germain directs the MFA program in Creative Writing at Chatham University.
