Founded in 1976, they are still as youthfully active and inquisitive as ever 40 years later. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Emerson String Quartet this edition documents the extraordinary persistence of the Quartet on 52 CDs.  Included are complete cycles of the string quartets of Shostakovich, Beethoven and Bartók as well as works by Haydn, Tchaikovsky and Schubert. Pinchas Zukerman’s complete recordings

“I am born to make music. Music is my motive since I was five years old, it gives me energy, emotion, everything.” Pinchas Zukerman is undoubtedly a part of the long tradition of great Romantic violin virtuosos, although he sees himself first and foremost as a musician in the most general sense of the term. Significant stages in Zukerman’s career are now documented in the present anthology, which features all of his recordings for Deutsche Grammophon and Philips from 1974 to 1996, offering a wide-ranging and representative survey of his multifaceted activities as a violin virtuoso, a violist and a conductor. Discover Wagner’s operas!

Listen & discover

“Imagination creates reality.” Richard Wagner was one of the most radical and controversial opera composers, whose harmonic and dramatic innovations had lasting impact. “The Mastersingers of Nurember”, which was first performed on 21th of June in 1868, is different from his other operas: It is a comedy. All the operas above are based on myths from Germany, Scandanavia and Iceland. Wagner was brilliant in combining mystery, intrigue, death, heart-break and heroism. With 34 characters and a length about 15 hours, his legendary “Ring Cycle” presents the ultimate challenge for any opera company. The second of four parts “The Valkyries” was premiered on 26th of June in 1870. Discover his timeless masterworks, which still delight audiences all around the world!
