‘Sisters in Crime’ coming to Gulf Gate Public Library
SARASOTA COUNTY – Local mystery and thriller authors will unite at Barnes & Noble and the Gulf Gate Public Library, on Saturday, June 18, in celebration of the new “Gulf Coast Sisters in Crime” chapter, which promotes the professional development of women crime writers.
The new local chapter is an outgrowth of the national “Sisters in Crime” organization, which boasts over 3,600 members in over 50 chapters worldwide. The organization was founded in 1986 by New York Times best-selling author Sara Paretsky, and other well-known women authors.
From 10 a.m. to noon, authors will offer readings from their latest novels at Barnes and Noble, and be available to sign their books throughout the day. Authors will offer a workshop, host a discussion panel, and sign their works at the Gulf Gate Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Gulf Gate Public Library is located at 7112 Curtiss Ave., Sarasota; Barnes & Noble is located at 4010 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
