|
The Arts and Cultural Alliance will provide two six-hour training sessions for individuals in our community who would like to become guides for Patriot Plaza at the Sarasota National Cemetery. The tours given by the guides provide details about the beautiful amphitheater and five large public artworks. The art includes brass sculptures, a mosaic mural, etched glass, marble tablets and plinths, and documentary photographs.
The themes of Patriot Plaza are: Honor Service, Inspire Patriotism, and Embrace Freedom. The training sessions will take place as needed. In addition to the training sessions, guides are also expected to spend additional time on their own learning about the artworks, shadowing current tours, and perfecting tour presentations for adults and students.
For an application and more information, please contact Cindy Balistreri, Arts Education Manager/Patriot Plaza Tour Manager at the Arts and Cultural Alliance, 941-365-5118, x301 or [email protected]. |
