TANGLED ART + DISABILITY PRESENTS PHARMAKON A PRODUCTION BY LES PRODUCTIONS DES PIEDS DES MAINS

WHAT:
The 11th annual Tangled Arts Festival presents Pharmakon, a production by Montreal based Les Productions des pieds des mains. Under the direction of award-winning avant-garde choreographer Menka Nagrani, this dynamic dance-theatre company dives headfirst into one of the most controversial issues of our time: mood-altering drugs.
An explosion of dance, theatre, poetry and stop-motion animation, Pharmakon explores the division between normal and abnormal. It asks the audience, “what is the right dose for the right emotions, so we aren’t too afraid, so we smile just enough, so we don’t cry too much?” This daring and evocative production integrates stop-motion animation and Playmobile figurines into the performance to engage with these questions.
