Osborne Continues National Tour in Support of Critically-Acclaimed New Release
“Love and Hate”
Seven-time Grammy nominee and multi-platinum selling recording artist Joan Osborne will perform tonight at Infinity Hall in Norfolk, CT. The concert will be recorded to air nationally on public television’s Infinity Hall Live series for release in May 2014. Infinity Hall Live is celebrating its third season at the historic 130-year-old Infinity Music Hall. Osborne’s performance will air on public television stations throughout the country beginning in July. Music fans flock to the series for the intimate performances and interviews.
In addition, Osborne will host her second annual Mother’s Day Benefit Concert on May 10th & 11th at City Winery in NYC, benefiting the Somaly Mam Foundation. The special evening of music and giving back will feature a special appearance by Rosanne Cash on May 10th and on May 11th a special guest to be announced will join Osborne.
“I am thrilled to be hosting my second annual Mother’s Day Benefit, and to be sharing the stage with fellow mom and amazing artist Rosanne Cash,” said Osborne.
Osborne’s eighth studio album, the recently released Love and Hate, is receiving critical acclaim. The NY Daily News expressed, “She treats love and hate not as distinct forces but as evil allies, conspiring against hapless humans.” RollingStone.com added, “There’s a substance and depth here that is not easily achieved, and I think Osborne is getting more interesting with time.”
The album is one of the most personally-charged, creatively ambitious efforts of her two-decades-plus recording career. Osborne co-wrote every song on Love and Hate making it her most intimate record to date. She co-produced the album with Jack Petruzzelli (Patti Smith, Rufus Wainwright) – with whom she also recorded 2012’s Bring It On Home, which was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Blues Album category. Love and Hate was recorded in the woods of Pennsylvania and her current hometown of New York City.
