TICKET PROMOTION FOR UNIVERSITIES IN TEXAS, OKLAHOMA
Texas Rangers University Days to Feature Special Game Days For
Texas Tech, TCU, North Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M
FOX Sports Southwest has teamed up with the Texas Rangers to create Texas Rangers University Days, a special ticket promotion for universities in Texas and Oklahoma.
Participating universities will receive discounted tickets for students and alumni to attend a Rangers game designated and promoted by the Rangers and FOX Sports Southwest as the school’s “game day” at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
Schools scheduled to participate in 2014 include Texas Tech, TCU, North Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. More universities are expected to be added.
“We’re excited to join forces with the Texas Rangers to present University Days,” said FOX Sports Southwest Senior Vice President/General Manager Jon Heidtke. “We deliver the ideal platform to bring together several of our collegiate partners with our Major League Baseball partner to provide compelling offers for Rangers fans from universities throughout our region.”
The promotion includes reduced ticket prices; a limited edition Texas Rangers cap in the school’s colors for the first 1,000 fans that purchase the special tickets; on-field pregame participation by coaches, players or noted alumni; and recognition of the university on FOX Sports Southwest’s live game broadcast.
The FOX Sports Southwest Rangers Fan Express VIP luxury bus and the FOX Sports Southwest Girls will be integrated into the promotion.
“The Rangers are excited to be able to offer college students and alumni from these universities in Texas and Oklahoma the opportunity to enjoy Major League Baseball at Globe Life Park in Arlington,” said Rangers Executive Vice President for Communications John Blake. “We want to thank FOX Sports Southwest for partnering with us on this effort, and we look forward to hosting the schools at the ballpark.”
