(New York, NY) Tony Award nominee Will Swenson (Hair, Priscilla Queen of the Desert) will assume the role of Tony Delvecchio for nine performances only in Broadway’s critically acclaimed musical comedy Disaster! beginning performances on Friday, April 29 through Friday, May 6 at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street).
Due to a shooting schedule, Tony Award winner and 2016 Outer Critics Circle Award nominee Roger Bart will depart the production on Thursday, April 28 and will return to the role beginning Saturday, May 7.

Will Swenson returns to Broadway following his critically acclaimed run as Javert in the revival of Les Misérables. Swenson’s Broadway credits include his Tony and Drama Desk Award nominated performance in Hair, his Drama League Award nominated performance in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, 110 in the Shade, Lestat and Brooklyn. His Off-Broadway credits include Little Miss Sunshine, Murder Ballad, the original cast of Rock of Ages, Adrift in Macao and Two Gentleman of Verona.

Come hell or high water, Disaster! is Broadway’s new musical comedy . Earthquakes, tidal waves, infernos and rampant wildlife can’t stop an outrageous cast of characters from dancing, gambling and singing the night away aboard New York’s first floating casino and discothèque. Disaster! features some of the most memorable pop, rock and disco hits of the 1970s, including “Hot Stuff,” “I Am Woman,” “Knock On Wood,” “Daybreak” and more.
Disaster! features scenic design by Tony Award nominee Tobin Ost (Newsies), costume design by six-time Tony Award winner William Ivey Long (The Producers, Hairspray), lighting design by Tony Award winner Jeff Croiter (Peter and the Starcatcher) and sound design by Mark Menard (Jane Eyre).
Disaster! features music direction by Steve Marzullo, fight direction by Rick Sordelet and Christian Kelly-Sordelet, orchestrations by Joseph Joubert, vocal arrangements by Michael McElroy, dance arrangements by David Dabbon, music coordination by Charles Gordon and choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter (School of Rock).

The 2016 Disaster! Performance schedule is as follows:
Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Wednesday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m.

A limited number of $30 general rush tickets are available for each performance at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street) when the box office opens for that day’s performance(s). Limited to 2 tickets per patron, tickets must be purchased with cash only and are subject to availability.
PRODUCTION HISTORY
Disaster! debuted at New York’s Triad Theatre on January 22, 2012, and ran through March 25, 2012. The critically-acclaimed musical comedy moved Off-Broadway to St. Luke’s Theatre, where it played from October 14, 2013 through April 11, 2014, topping many “Best of 2013” lists include The Daily News’ “Theater’s 10 Best of 2013” and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s Entertainment Weekly “Must List.” Time Out New York rated Disaster! five out of five stars, and raved, “I can’t remember the last time I laughed out loud at the theater as often as I did at Disaster!
