Alter Agents Releases “Dawn of the Promiscuous Shopper” eBook
Publication examines generational shopping spending and trends based on data collected by the company’s Shopper STAT technology
LOS ANGELES, CA, April 21, 2016 – Alter Agents, a market research firm focused on intelligent shopper insights, today released a new eBook: Dawn of the Promiscuous Shopper. The new publication uses data from the firm’s Shopper STAT technology and examines the dramatic changes in the way consumers interact with brands. Unique to the industry, Shopper STAT is a tool comprised of a data offering based on continuous sampling of shoppers who bought groceries in the last 24 hours.
Phil Dance, co-founder and partner at Alter Agents, said, “When we say today’s shopper is promiscuous, it is not meant negatively. It is the best way to describe the way that the younger generations – we call them Digital Natives – are transforming and evolving the CPG shopping experience. They are open and uninhibited with their attitudes toward products and brands in a way that previous generations have not been.”
The new eBook does a deep dive into the changing path-to-purchase landscape, addressing purchase drivers and processes and everything in between. For example, Millennials (age 18-34) and Generation Z (under 17) have an approach to shopping in the CPG grocery space that is a complete break from the shopping experience we’ve known since marketing studies began a century ago.
In the Dawn of the Promiscuous Shopper, Alter Agents reviews what is driving these attitudinal changes and how these generational shifts are going to change the shopping experience forever. For most marketers and researchers, this is a familiar concept that has exponentially grown since the dawn of the digital age. But the Dawn of the Promiscuous Shopper takes it a step further, with a data-driven examination of:
- How the age of information is driving anxiety and promiscuity
- Why value and a truly customer-centric shopping experience is leading the competitive edge
- The ways the Digital Native shopping habits are affecting brands and other consumer groups
- How the unpredictability of the Digital Native is forcing brands to abandon loyalty as the end goal
