125TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT ON THURSDAY, MAY 5 AT 7:00 PM
Carnegie Hall today announced that soprano Jessye Norman is unable to participate in Carnegie Hall’s 125th gala concert on Thursday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. Ms. Norman regrets having to withdraw from this performance due to a recent medical matter. She extends her very best wishes and greetings for a wonderful celebration of Carnegie Hall’s 125 years. The rest of the concert proceeds as planned with an exciting mix of solo, chamber, and choral works, as well as opera selections and popular song, featuring appearances by Martina Arroyo, Marilyn Horne, Emanuel Ax, Michael Feinstein, Renée Fleming, Lang Lang, Isabel Leonard, Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and James Taylor. Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado leads the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at the gala concert, which also features the Oratorio Society of New York (Kent Tritle, Music Director).
