SARASOTA, FL. (March 24, 2016)— Sarasota County is known as Florida’s Cultural Coast® due to its vast array of high-quality performing and visual arts venues and communities. With more than ten professional and community theaters offering 3,000 seats for patrons, there are live performances in Sarasota year-round.

The season for live theater is year-round in Sarasota County,” says Virginia Haley, President of Visit Sarasota County. “We heard from our theater groups that many people often assume they go dark after the winter months. We want to dispel this myth. This promotion is designed to raise awareness of, and drive patrons to experience, live theater throughout the year.”

During the month of May, patrons can enjoy discounts at many theaters, including such deals at buy one, get one tickets (BOGO) at select theatres, during the May Curtain Call promotion.

To date, participants and deals include the following:

Asolo Repertory Theater, a stages up to 15 professional theatrical productions every season, spanning from newly commissioned plays, bold reinterpretations of classical and contemporary works and provocative musical theatre experiences. The theater is the largest professional not-for-profit theater in the United States south of Atlanta.
