Moviegoers Choose The Ten Commandments
as Their Favorite Biblical Blockbuster

DENVER (March 16, 2016) — Sixty years after its release, Cecil B. DeMille’s monumental epic The Ten Commandments remains the favorite Biblical film of moviegoers. National online ticketing site MovieTickets.com today released results of a survey that asked consumers to select their favorite Biblical blockbuster from among the five highest-grossing Bible-based films ever made.

The Ten Commandments took the No. 1 spot with 43 percent of respondents voting it their favorite Biblical movie.

Following The Ten Commandments were The Passion of the Christ with 27 percent of votes, Ben-Hur with 21 percent, The Robe with just under 5 percent and The Prince of Egypt with slightly more than 4 percent.

The Ten Commandments is truly one of the most beloved features ever made – and also one of the highest grossing, and most spectacular to witness on the big screen,” said Fathom Events CEO John Rubey. “It’s an iconic part of motion-picture history, and it’s clear that moviegoers never forget the experience of seeing it.”

Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) are presenting a rare opportunity to experience The Ten Commandments on the silver screen – fully restored and digitally projected in its original VistaVision aspect ratio – for two days only in more than 650 theaters nationwide: Sunday, March 20, and Wednesday, March 23, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time each day.

Tickets to TCM Big Screen Classics: The Ten Commandments can be purchased online from Fathom Events, MovieTickets.com or at participating theaters box offices – a full list of locations around the country can be found at the Fathom Events website.  The film is also available on Digital HD.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS tells the epic story of the life of Moses (Charlton Heston), once favored in the household of the Pharaoh (Yul Brynner), who turns his back on a privileged life to lead his people to freedom.

The all-star cast also includes Anne Baxter, Edward G. Robinson, Yvonne De Carlo, Debra Paget, John Derek, Cedric Harwicke, Nina Foch, Judith Anderson, Martha Scott, Vincent Price and John Carradine.

TCM host Ben Mankiewicz will present all-new commentary for THE TEN COMMANDMENTS both before and after the feature.
