Levi’s® Stadium Prepared to Host Football’s Big Game with Daktronics Displays
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Jan. 28, 2016 – The biggest football game of the year is almost set to kick off at Levi’s® Stadium in Santa Clara, California, a venue that opened in 2014 with video displays and new technology from Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota.
Video displays at each end zone paired with additional displays throughout the venue are prepared to wow fans as the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers face off for football supremacy. The south end zone features the stadium’s most innovative audio-visual combination using freeform LED elements in an acoustically-transparent façade over the speaker system to provide additional video display space for team-branded content and advertising.
Of the 11 total playoff games, Daktronics has LED displays at all hosting venues including main end zone displays at 10 of 11 game sites.
“This year marks 12 consecutive years that the venue hosting the game will be using Daktronics products to inform and entertain the masses of people in and around the stadium,” said Will Ellerbruch, Daktronics national sales manager. “Levi’s Stadium was built to be the most technologically advanced stadium and they selected Daktronics to provide the very best LED technology that will be showcased next Sunday.
“Professional teams and venues continue to rely on our products to enhance their events. It really is an honor to be a part of the largest moments in sports year after year as our company has been in business for decades, nearly matching the 50th anniversary of football’s biggest game.”
Aside from the video displays, Daktronics will have nine technicians on site for the entire game. These field engineers and control experts will be planning and staging the week prior to the game. This includes placing spare parts at each display for increased game-day response time, pre-event system checks and running a fully simulated game on the primary and back-up systems to ensure everything is ready for the main event.
Levi’s® Stadium showcases multiple video displays in seating bowl featuring 13HD pixel layouts, the premier LED solution for outdoor stadiums. Two 10 millimeter SMD LED ribbon displays on the exterior welcome fans to the stadium and two large displays were installed in 2015 that face outward from the venue but can also be seen as fans walk around the concourse areas to keep them informed while away from their seats.
