PROJECT Trio to Perform at Amarillo Symphony’s Reimaginings
Concert weekend features classical works with urban twist and Bernstein’s legendary West Side Story
AMARILLO, TEXAS – (February 11, 2014) – The Amarillo Symphony, (www.amarillosymphony.org), the leader of orchestral music in the Texas Panhandle since 1924, today announces details regarding its upcoming Reimaginings concerts on February 21 and 22 at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts.
Music director and conductor Jacomo Rafael Bairos presents a refreshing musical experience with renowned guest artist PROJECT Trio. A passionate, high energy chamber music ensemble comprised of three virtuosic composers/performers from Brooklyn, New York, PROJECT Trio blends their classical training with an eclectic taste in musical styles. Comprised of a double bass, flute and cello, PROJECT Trio makes an impact on audiences of all ages and joins the orchestra for a unique interpretation of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and Rossini’s William Tell Overture, among others. This concert repertoire also features a classic and beloved Bernstein work – the rhapsodic West Side Story: Symphonic Dances.
