Announces Cancellation of Del McCoury Band
performance at Sanders Theatre
(Boston) Celebrity Series of Boston has announced the cancellation of this Saturday evening’s scheduled performance by the Del McCoury Band sings unreleased songs of Woody Guthrie, at 8:00pm at Sanders Theatre, Memorial Hall, Harvard University, 45 Quincy Street, Cambridge. Celebrity Series performances by Billy Childs (Friday, January 22) and Orchestre National de France (Sunday, January 24) will proceed as scheduled.
Celebrity Series Executive Director Gary Dunning said in a statement, “Celebrity Series regrets to announce that the Del McCoury performance scheduled for January 23 is cancelled,” Dunning said. “Even though the impact on Boston is projected to be modest, the impending winter storm, with its projected strength in the South and Mid-Atlantic region, complicates the travel of the current tour and made this decision unavoidable.”
