Club has five remaining players eligible for arbitration
Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has agreed to terms with infielder Jurickson Profar on a one-year contract for the 2016 season. No further terms were disclosed.
Profar had been eligible for salary arbitration. With this agreement, the Rangers now have five remaining players eligible for salary arbitration: catcher Robinson Chirinos, left-handed pitcher Jake Diekman, first baseman Mitch Moreland, and right-handed pitchers Tanner Scheppers and Shawn Tolleson.
Profar spent the entire 2015 season on the 60-day disabled list following right shoulder surgery on February 23, 2015. He batted .256 (11-43) on a 12-game injury rehabilitation assignment with Hickory (A) and Frisco (AA) in August and September, and had a .267 (20-91) average with 2 home runs and 20 RBI over 20 games for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League.
