JANUARY 14th, 2016 – NEW YORK, NY – On January 12th, the Village Voice kicked offtheir 43rd annual Pazz & Jop issue release with a huge event at Webster Hall. Over 400 writers and attendees celebrated by enjoying a live performance from Charles Bradley And His Extraordinaires as well as DJ Jonathan Toubin. 2015 Pazz & Jop poll winners were announced and are listed in the current issue of the Village Voice. #pazzandjop has also been a trending topic on twitter this week.
The event also joined forces with Little Kids Rock, a charity that helps disadvantaged communities have access to music education and its many benefits. In support of the program the Pazz & Jop event raised donations to help bring free instrumental music lessons to 40 additional kids that night.
The Pazz & Jop critic’s poll is an annual survey conducted by the paper and was completed by 483 music critics, who each awarded 100 points on their favorite music of the year. The results for the best of 2015 are listed below.
