SARASOTA COUNTY – A new customer service desk is officially open at the Sarasota County Administration Center, 1660 Ringling Bvld., Sarasota, as part of an effort to better serve visitors.
The welcome center will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday with customer service representatives who can provide information and help direct visitors.
“This new improvement to the building is part of Sarasota County’s overall commitment to providing excellent service,” said Sarasota County Administrator Tom Harmer. “In our most recent Citizen Opinion Survey, respondents gave us high marks for customer service and responsiveness, and having a new welcome center will provide one more way for Sarasota County to serve and positively interact with the public.”
The welcome center is part of a larger plan to renovate the downtown building. In late 2014, the exterior of the building was painted, and overgrown landscaping was replaced by new, Florida-friendly native plants. Further improvements are planned for the remainder of the lobby in 2016.
“It’s been exciting to see these renovations come to life at our downtown building,” Harmer said. “The administration center is a hub of county business and activity, and having friendly staff in place to welcome visitors who come here for meetings and services is a welcome addition in keeping with our goals for customer service.”
