Credited by fellow musicians and mentors with an amazing ear for music and excellent pitch, Malia attributes much of these gifts to efforts in overcoming what doctors thought to be profound hearing loss as an infant and toddler. Between winning the Austin Songwriter of the Year Award (BeBobAlooza 2014) and earning an invitation to play an official showcase at SXSW 2015 – Malia is racking up critical acclaim even before releasing an album for her soulful and evocative tunes, which she writes on piano (and occasionally guitar).
Malia Grace recently released her debut self-titled EP, streaming now via Spotify, here: http://bit.ly/1Nbdx1B. Already an Austin area-staple, Malia is poised for a huge 2016 – and is sure to land on the national map in a big way.

Credited by fellow musicians and mentors with an amazing ear for music and excellent pitch, Malia Grace attributes much of these gifts to efforts in overcoming what doctors thought to be profound hearing loss as an infant and toddler. She has enjoyed early success in her music career, winning the Austin Songwriter of the Year Award (BeBobAlooza 2014) and earning an invitation to play an official showcase at SXSW 2015 even before the release of her debut album.
After graduating with honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Music Business and Business Foundations, Malia Grace passed on grad school and a steady job to pursue her songwriting passion full-time. A successful crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo helped Malia fund her upcoming debut album composed of her most frequently requested songs, already well received by Austin-area audiences. Malia’s songs, which she writes on piano and sometimes guitar, feature themes of high-stakes romance, the hopes and dangers of love, and finding the strength to rise above life’s slings and arrows. They have been described as “pop songs for a wide audience – soulful, evocative” by longtime A&R rep and musician, Bruce Gardner.
