2016 Agriculture Guide of Florida’s Gulf Coast now available

SARASOTA, Fla. (October 23, 2015) –   The farm-to-table and hook-and-cook movements are a staple of dining in Sarasota County and the Bradenton area in Florida.  To better inform visitors about our agricultural offerings, the Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and Visit Sarasota County have updated our popular Agriculture Guide to provide more information about what our top culinary region has to offer.

The easy to-use guide is simple to read with color-code information providing information on the availability of locally-owned produce, farms and farmer’s markets in the region.  Included in the guide are farms, farmers markets, community gardens, culinary events and farm resources around the destinations.  A convenient map also highlights which farms give tours and are open to the public and more.

Buying and eating fresh and local supports local farmers and restaurants, saves the environment, improves your health and provides a more authentic and sustainable dining experience.

Where to Get the Guide

  • Pick up your copy of the guide at the Visit Sarasota County Visitor Center (visitsarasota.org, 800-800-3906). The Visitor Center is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and is located at 14 N. Lemon Avenue, Sarasota, Fla.
