SPOLETO FESTIVAL USA APPOINTS JENNIFER SCOTT AS
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
NEW YORK, NY (April 14, 2014)—General Director Nigel Redden has announced the appointment of Jennifer Scott as the new Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina. Ms. Scott was formerly a senior publicist at the New York public relations firm Shuman Associates—the Festival’s national press representative—working with clients such as the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, Cleveland Orchestra, cellist Alisa Weilerstein, pianist Jonathan Biss, and Spoleto Festival USA in seasons 2008-2011. She began her new role on April 7, following two years as the Communications Manager for the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
This year’s Spoleto Festival USA will take place May 23 through June 8. Held in Charleston, South Carolina, the festival includes American premieres of the opera Facing Goya by Michael Nyman, the play My Cousin Rachel presented by Dublin’s Gate Theatre company, and a new staging of John Adams’ opera El Niño directed by John La Bouchardière. The Festival will also present the opera directorial debut of Garry Hynes, the first woman to win a Tony Award for directing a play on Broadway, in a production of Leoš Janáček’s Kát’a Kabanová.
