Malia Grace recently premiered her new single “Mama Didn’t Raise No Fool” via the Fallon Tonight Official Tumblr, here: http://bit.ly/1QUALZ5. The track comes from Malia Grace’s debut self-titled EP, which is set to be released on October 29th, 2015. The EP was crowd funded through a successful Indiegogo campaign, and features seven original tracks that beautifully meld pop sensibilities with the soft and soulful touch of Malia’s pealing vocals. Credited by fellow musicians and mentors with an amazing ear for music and excellent pitch, Malia Grace attributes much of these gifts to efforts in overcoming what doctors thought to be profound hearing loss as an infant and toddler. She has enjoyed early success in her music career, winning the Austin Songwriter of the Year Award (BeBobAlooza 2014) and earning an invitation to play an official showcase at SXSW 2015 even before the release of her debut album.
After graduating with honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Music Business and Business Foundations, Malia Grace passed on grad school and a steady job to pursue her songwriting passion full-time. A successful crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo helped Malia fund her upcoming debut album composed of her most frequently requested songs, already well received by Austin-area audiences. Malia’s songs, which she writes on piano and sometimes guitar, feature themes of high-stakes romance, the hopes and dangers of love, and finding the strength to rise above life’s slings and arrows. They have been described as “pop songs for a wide audience – soulful, evocative” by longtime A&R rep and musician, Bruce Gardner.
