2015 Florida Senior Games Registration Now Open
TALLAHASSEE – Florida senior athletes are now able to register online for the 2015 Florida Senior Games. The 24th Annual Olympic-style Sports Festival for athletes age 50 and over will be held December 5-13 in Clearwater, with 24 sports and events.
Registration is available for all events at www.flasports.com online and forms are available to print out and mail to the FSF Office in Clearwater. Entry fees begin at $11 and vary by sport. The online registration deadline is November 20.
“For the first time in the history of the Games, athletes from all over the state will have the opportunity to experience the premier sports facilities in Clearwater and Pinellas County,” said Stephen Rodriguez, Sr. Vice President of the Florida Sports Foundation. “The Long Center in Clearwater will host several sports over the nine days of competition. Cyclists will have the beautiful scenery at Fort DeSoto Park for the Time Trials. The Innisbrook Resort is a nationally-known golf and tennis facility and the synthetic track and Clearwater High School is one of the best in Pinellas County.”
Many sports of the Florida Senior Games require a qualifying performance at a Florida Senior Games Series Qualifier. Athletes can qualify for the Games in Clearwater at one of eight upcoming series qualifiers between September and November. The Pensacola Senior Games are taking place now and the Palm Coast and Flagler Beaches Senior Games begin Saturday.
