Conor O’Brien to Appear as Special Guest at ‘In Dreams: David Lynch Revisited’ shows
US live dates with Paul Weller and John Grant this September & October
Today Villagers share a beautiful animated video for the soulful ‘Hot Scary Summer’, which rakes over the break-up of a love affair blighted by “all the pretty young homophobes looking out for a fight”. The video was directed by Hi-Sim and you can watch it HERE.
‘Hot Scary Summer’ is taken from Villagers’ most recent album Darling Arithmetic – a breathtakingly beautiful, intimate piece of work entirely about love and relationships. Darling Arithmetic is the follow-up to Conor O’Brien‘s debut, Becoming a Jackal, andits successor, Awayland – both hugely acclaimed and each nominated for The Mercury Music Prize, the latter winning Ireland’s Choice Music Prize.

This Spring and Summer, Villagers toured the UK, Europe and US, highlights of which included a stunning sold out performance at The Barbican in London and a sold-out show with Laura Marling in Brooklyn. Today Villagers announce an extensive North American tour for the Fall, firstly as special guest to
Paul Weller, followed by dates with John Grant.
Villagers’ Conor O’Brien has also been invited to perform again as part of
‘In Dreams: David Lynch Revisited’, which premiered at The Barbican in London in 2014. A landmark live tribute to the songs and music from the legendary filmmaker, David Lynch, the event will also feature performances from Stuart Staples (Tindersticks), Jehnny Beth (Savages), Cibo Matto, Stealing Sheep, Sophia Brous and Kirin Callinan.
