IHEARTRADIO ON THE VERGE ARTIST HAILEE STEINFELD DEBUTS AS THE HIGHEST FEMALE SOLO ARTISTS ON MEDIABASE
New York, NY September 1, 2015 Republic Records artist Hailee Steinfeld has debuted as the highest ranking female solo artist on the Mediabase Top 40 chart with her debut single, “Love Myself.” Steinfeld is an Oscar-nominated actress-singer that embraced her passion for music early-on in her childhood. She first debuted her musical talent in this year’s hit movie? Pitch Perfect 2, setting the stage for her to blossom as an artist.
In early August iHeartMedia programmers selected Steinfeld as an iHeartRadio ³On The Verge² artist. ³On The Verge² is a six-week program that includes on-air exposure as well as significant digital and social support across iHeartMedia’s network to spotlight an up-and-coming artist that iHeartMedia’s programmers are collectively passionate about and know listeners will love. The program continues to prove instrumental in the development of successful and highly credible emerging artists such as Iggy Azalea, Tove Lo and many others.
“Love Myself” has quickly achieved major success after debuting as the highest-ranking female solo artist on the Mediabase Top 40 chart since 2001.
“When Hailee first came to our offices earlier this summer and played us ‘Love Myself’ we knew it would be an instant hit, one that would become an anthem for late summer and back to school,” said Tom Poleman, President of National Programming Platforms, iHeartMedia. “Once the rest of our programmers heard the song, we were really excited to introduce her to listeners and named her an On The Verge artist.²
“iHeartMedia’s On The Verge program was critical to the set up, launch and introduction of Haillee into the pop music marketplace. Its immediate impact made history and brought a new star with a smash to the masses,” said Charlie Walk, Executive Vice President, Republic Records.
