“The lyrics for Soon Forgotten are where we got the title for the record “The Mark We Leave Behind” The song asks the question, what’s left at the end of the day for the next generation to remember us by, when we have gotten carried away with our excess and less than noble ways of life.” – Stephen Angello, vocalist/guitarist.

About The Escape:

The Escape is a four-piece rock band hailing from Philadelphia, PA formed in 2010. More than just a name, The Escape is a sentiment that defines not only how the band sees music but how they make music. Music is an outlet, a stress reliever, a method of expression – their escape.

Following their 2013 release “New Direction,” the band has played up and down the East Coast and has been featured nationally on ESPN.com.

In December of 2014, the band hunkered down to record “The Mark We Leave Behind” with producer Vince Ratti (Circa Survive, Mewithoutyou, Zolof the Rock n Roll Destroyer) at the legendary Studio 4 and Vince’s own Skylight Studios. They set out to achieve a raw sound that will resonate with fans of Rise Against, Bayside, and the Foo Fighters. “The Mark We Leave Behind” EP, set to release on July 28th 2015, does just that.

“Lyrically, we wanted to explore the concept of footprints.” says singer Stephen Angello. “Whether it’s the attitudes we adopt as a society, the impressions we make on others through our relationships, or the art we create, at heart is the question: “What is the mark we leave behind?”
