SISTER SPARROW & THE DIRTY BIRDS
2015 TOUR DATES ADDED
JULY 9, 2015 – NEW YORK – Soulful rock band, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, will be making circles around the country this fall as they hit the road on tour. The newly added dates have the band making stops nationwide, with performances in most major cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Atlanta and many more, as well as multiple festivals throughout the summer and fall. Fans can also catch a live performance by the band on the Today Show on August 3.
Many tickets go on sale tomorrow, July 10. For tickets and more information, please visit www.SisterSparrow.com.
Since 2011, the Brooklyn-based, seven-piece band, led by powerhouse front woman, Arleigh Kincheloe, have had huge success touring, playing upwards of 130 shows a year in 45 US states, Canada and Asia. The band has racked up a notable list of festival performances, including Bonnaroo, Firefly, SXSW, Voodoo Fest, Bottlerock, Forecastle, Mountain Jam and many more. Backed by the mighty force of The Dirty Birds (Jackson Kincheloe on harmonica, Sasha Brown on guitar, Josh Myers on bass, Dan Boyden on drums, Phil Rodriguez on trumpet and Brian Graham on saxophone), the group masterfully lays down thundering grooves and soaring melodies, with Kincheloe’s astounding voice and sly demeanor making for a spellbinding presence both on and off the stage.
Their latest studio album, The Weather Below (May 2015), features 10 fiery, soul-filled original tracks written by Arleigh Kincheloe, and is the result of a collaboration with Grammy Award-winning producer Ryan Hadlock (Lumineers, Vance Joy, Ra Ra Riot, Blonde Red Head). The Weather Below blends seductive soul and dirty blues rock, putting a modern spin on classic soul, and has been featured on the top 30 of Billboard’s Indicator Chart. The first single off the album, “Mama Knows,” has moved over 100,000 copies, and their single, “Sugar,” has landed the band as Sirius XM’s Featured Coast-to-Coast Artist.
The Weather Below is currently available to purchase via iTunes, Amazon, and other digital retailers, as well as in stores both on CD and vinyl.
