Dead on TV Release Official Video for “Screwdriver” Off Of Creeper EP

Exclusive Video Premiere on Punknews.org

June10, 2015Chicago, Illinois – Garage/Punk band Dead on TV has released their Official Video for “Screwdriver” off of the sophomore EP, Creeper. Directed by Yeva Dashevsky and Conor McCaffery, “Screwdriver” was shot at Superior Street Center for the Arts in Chicago, IL.

“Screwdriver” turned out to be an interesting experiment for us as a band. We had been trying to figure out how we could make a song that wasn’t blazing fast. Once we had a groove that felt appropriately sleazy, the lyric came really easy, like you would hope a song about handjobs would. Now it’s one of our favorite songs and it’s probably the most requested song we get from fans. When we came to deciding to make a video for it, I saw this amazing space with a red curtain and instantly thought of Twin Peaks. We’re all fans of David Lynch and wanted to do a creepy video for this song and the pieces just fell right into place.Daniel Evans/Vocals

Between their nihilistic edge, high cheek bones and riffs based in blues-punk, the band takes cues from bands like The Dead Boys and The Pagans. “Screwdriver” is a slow burning number that swims in a dark, buzzing riff while vocalist Daniel Evans sings like he’s just woken up from a rough… week… Stiv would be proud.Punknews.org

About Dead on TV:

Dead on TV has stroked audiences all over the nation with their brand of explosive punk rock narcissism. This sound, coupled with the smash and grab disruption of lead singer Dan Evans, the brutal machine-like ineptness of drummer Vince Mcaley, the pounding low end of synth player Mike Bradberry and a complete and heinous disregard for the life of guitar player Corey Devlin has resulted in some of the most epically offensive shows ever removed from youtube for violation of community standards.
When broken on the sidewalk, their debut EP, Fuck You, I’m Famous seems to somehow cut deeper than other plastic-coated cd releases. Released April 2012, the EP garnered the attention of college radio stations across the country and the FBI. Dead on TV has just given birth to their latest collection of anti-pop anthems entitled Creeper, and for some reason, people like it.
The systematic and repeated public exposure of themselves has lead DOTV to share the stage with the talents of garage rockers Radkey and classic punks like The Vibrators and Fang.
