MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYERS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BRINGS LEGENDS FOR YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC SERIES TO SACRAMENTO, CA
Free youth baseball clinic to feature Jim Barr, Gary Roenicke and other MLB Alumni
Colorado Springs, Colo. Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series on Wednesday, June 10th, 2015. In partnership with Chevy Youth Baseball, the free clinic features former Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth ages 6 16.
Players attending* include 12-year veteran Jim Barr and 1983 World Series champion Gary Roenicke, as well as Dennis Burtt, Jim Campbell, Huck Flener, Pat Gomez, Kurt Knudsen, Nate Oliver and Rich Robertson. These 9 players combine for 49 years, 2,206 games and 977 hits in Major League Baseball.
The clinic will take place at George Butter Cole Field at McKinley Park, runningfrom 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., located at 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95816. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, baserunning and life skills. Registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. The evening will conclude with an autograph session for children in attendance.
