THE 9th ANNUAL
JACOBITE
MEMORIAL DAY SHOW

There is so much to tell you about the Memorial Day Show, I hardly know where to begin.

Participating will be the sixteen piece First Brass os Sarasota ensemble, pairing up with the Jacobite Band with pipes, drums, guitars, fiddle & whistle.  The wonderful Sharon Scott will sing and the Riverview High School Highland Dancers will delight all in attendance.  The Sarasota County Fire Department Honor Guard willp resent the colors.

Added to this patriotic packed show will we will be honoring WWII veteran, Wally Neef.  We will tell stories about his time in the military between 1942-1946.  We will  also pay tribute to the fallen soldiers from all the American wars and the First Responders.

The First Brass is partnering with Riverview High School to raise funds to purchase a new band shell for the Performing Arts Center, in the name of Jack Crew.  Jack was the band director at RHS for a long time and was a huge influence to thousands of students during that time.  Several of the musicians playing in the concert on Sunday studied under Mr. Crew.  The new shell will improve the sound in the center, which will enhance the facility for the school and other community events. You will have the opportunity to learn more about that Sunday.

As always, we will be collecting old cell phones to send to the national non-profit organization, “Cell Phones for Soldiers’.  The link to their website is below.

There will be boxes, provided by the “Support Our Troops” organization, distributed at the end of the concert.  They request that you fill them and mail them to activity duty military personnel.  It means so much to them to receive these boxes from home.

Come Sunday to celebrate Memorial Day with music, dance, and stories, plus honor our veterans.
