ERIC TILLICH NAMED VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT FOR ARTIS—NAPLES

Naples, FL—Artis—Naples CEO and President Kathleen van Bergen announced today the appointment of Eric Tillich as Vice President of Development. Tillich will oversee the organization’s fundraising and development efforts. He starts his position on May 4.

“We are ecstatic for Eric Tillich to join this outstanding group of professionals,” van Bergen said. “With his appointment, our senior leadership team is complete.”

Tillich added: “It is a privilege to join the leadership team of Artis—Naples. I was inspired by the staff, board, Music Director Andrey Boreyko, orchestra musicians and the community of supporters who have made Artis—Naples a unique cultural treasure. It will be an honor to further advance the mission of this extraordinary organization.”

Tillich is recognized for his expertise in leading record-setting contributed revenue programs across a multitude of non-profit sectors, including youth services, performing arts, human services and higher education. Prior to joining Artis—Naples, Tillich owned a Milwaukee-based consulting firm that provided resource development services for capital campaigns, general fundraising and capacity building. As Vice President of Donor Relations for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee, Tillich raised a record amount for annual support in 2011. As Vice President of Development and Chief Development Officer for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (MSO), Tillich played a key role in helping the MSO achieve financial solvency for the first time in 20 years, raising an additional $15 million over a three-year period. Tillich has also grown contributed revenue significantly in positions at Concordia University System, Marian College of Fond du Lac and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of Engineering.

A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tillich earned a Master’s Degree in Organization, Leadership and Quality at Marian College of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Artis—Naples engaged Robert Swaney Consulting, Inc. and Hogle’s Hires, Ltd. to assist in filling the position.

THE NAPLES PHILHARMONIC
The Naples Philharmonic performs more than 140 orchestral and chamber music concerts, as well as opera and ballet, education, community and special event concerts annually in the 1,425-seat Hayes Hall, the 283-seat Daniels Pavilion and around the Southwest Florida region. Founded in 1982 as the Naples-Marco Philharmonic the orchestra performed four concerts in its first season. In 1989 the orchestra moved to its current home in Naples, and since then the ensemble has grown in scope, size and artistic impact.

Boreyko continues to expand the repertoire and redouble the orchestra’s dedication to world-class performances. In 2009 Jack Everly was named Principal Pops Conductor and continues today in that role bringing pops performances that celebrate music in its many forms.

THE BAKER MUSEUM
The Baker Museum is one of the foremost fine arts museums in Southwest Florida. The museum hosts several traveling exhibitions annually to complement installations of works from its permanent collections. Now celebrating its 15th anniversary, the museum is dedicated to stewardship and scholarship, generating travelling exhibitions from both its permanent collections and outside sources.

Among current exhibitions are the critically acclaimed Gods and Heroes: Masterpieces from the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris and an innovative look at Surrealism in Belgium, organized and curated by Artis—Naples. Upcoming exhibitions include a 15th anniversary retrospective of the museum’ permanent collection entitled 15 Years of Collecting and an exciting traveling show from the Museum at F.I.T.,  Yves Saint Laurent + Halston: Fashioning the ’70s.
