KAYA STEWART RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE, “IN LOVE WITH A BOY,” VIA ALL DIGITAL RETAILERS TODAY
LONDON-BORN, LOS ANGELES-BRED SINGER-SONGWRITER WILL JOIN THE HIGH SCHOOL NATION TOUR THIS MONTH AND THE VANS WARPED TOUR IN JULY
April 21st, 2015 – Burbank, CA – Warner Bros. Records artist Kaya Stewart releases her debut single, “In Love With A Boy” via all digital retailers today. A lyric video has been posted on the singer-songwriter’s YouTube page. Watch it HERE.
Upon being posted on Kaya’s SoundCloud last week, “In Love With A Boy” racked up more than 2,500 streams within 24 hours and was liked and/or shared on social media by a host of notables as diverse as Orithanthi, Martina McBride, Miley’s sister Noah Cyrus, Peter Facinelli, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, and Cassy London. PopStar! Magazine is already obsessed, calling “In Love With A Boy,” with its universal lyrics about having a crush and being afraid to tell anyone, “totally repeat-worthy.”
Deeply influenced by growing up in a musical household that included her father, songwriter-producer-musician Dave Stewart, Kaya began focusing on writing lyrics and melodies, documenting her personal experiences for the songs that are featured on her upcoming self-titled debut album for Warner Bros. Records. The album, due in September, was produced by Dave Stewart, who sets Kaya’s naturally soulful voice atop a sound that channels rock and R&B elements into pop songs driven by edgy electronic beats.
Kaya is set to hit the road on April 20th for the High School Nation Tour, which visits select high schools in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada. She will join a line-up that includes Jacob Latimore, Trevor Jackson, Leroy Sanchez, Chris Bones, and Palaye Royale, among others. High School Nation will take over football stadiums and parking lots on each of the selected campuses and present a two-hour concert and festival that will celebrate music and the arts in public schools. It has also been announced the Kaya will join the annual punk-pop spectacular Vans Warped Tour in July, which features more than 100 bands on the bill.
