MAYOR GARCETTI STATEMENT ON THE CALIFORNIA WATER RESOURCE CONTROL BOARD’S NEW DROUGHT REGULATIONS
“I’m pleased that the Water Resources Control Board has recognized our aggressive conservation efforts and I look forward to working collaboratively with Governor Brown to address our drought statewide. Since my October executive directive on the drought to reduce L.A. water use by 20% by 2017 and increase turf removal rebates to $3.75 per square foot, our city has reduced its water consumption by 7 gallons per capita per day. That puts us on track to meet my directive’s targets.  Now we must all meet the challenge to Save the Drop to ensure we have enough supply so that our city can thrive.” – Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti
