1Q 2015:
ABC News’ “Good Morning America” ranked No. 1 during 1st Quarter 2015 in both Total Viewers (5.541 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.051 million), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. 1Q15 marked “GMA’s 3rd straight year in winning the 1st quarter in both measures. Overall, “GMA’s” has won the last 11 quarters in overall viewers and the past 10 in the key adult news demo.
“GMA” beat NBC’s “Today” (4.961 million and 1.921 million) during 1Q15 by +580,000 Total Viewers and by +130,000 Adults 25-54. In addition, “GMA” was up slightly from its year-ago news demo lead (vs. +129,000 for 1Q14) to deliver its biggest 1st quarter advantage over “Today” in 22 years – since 1Q93.
“GMA” outdelivered CBS’ “Early Show” during 1Q15 in Total Viewers (+61%), Adults 25-54 (+91%) and Adults 18-49 (+91%).

“Good Morning America” stood as the morning’s No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (5.410 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.935 million) for the week of March 23, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” led NBC’s “Today” (4.677 million and 1.779 million, respectively) by 733,000 Total Viewers and by 156,000 Adults 25-54.
“GMA” built on its lead over “Today” week to week in both Total Viewers (+27% – 733,000 vs. 576,000) and Adults 25-54 (+7% – 156,000 vs. 146,000) to its largest in 4 weeks – since w/o 2/23/15.
“GMA” substantially widened its advantages over “Today” year to year in both Total Viewers (+86% – 733,000 vs. 395,000) and Adults 25-54 (+218% – 156,000 vs. 49,000).
Season to date, “GMA” is the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. “GMA” is leading “Today” by 617,000 Total Viewers and by 151,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, “GMA” has increased its season margins over “Today” versus the same point last season in both Total Viewers (+2% – 617,000 vs. 607,000) and Adults 25-54 (+66% – 151,000 vs. 91,000).
Furthermore, ranking No. 1 for the 3rd-straight season in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54, “GMA” is seeing its widest Total Viewer margin over “Today” in more than 23 years and biggest in Adults 25-54 in 23 years –since at least the 1991-92 season and the 1991-92 season, respectively (Nielsen’s electronic database started on September of 1991).
During the week, “GMA” beat “CBS This Morning” in Total Viewers (+65%), Adults 25-54 (+96%) and Adults 18-49 (+82%).
