The original Canadian Guitar God Randy Bachman will make a special appearance in Toronto at Koerner Hall in benefit of the Canadian Friends of Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind. The 6th Annual Evening of Miracles on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, is sure to be rich with songs and memories as rock ’n’ roll legend Randy Bachman performs his collection of chart topping classics from the past 30 years.

Since 1991, the Canadian Friends of Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind has been Takin’ Care of Business with just one objective – to help blind citizens in Israel achieve independence and mobility through the use of guide dogs. The relationship that develops between human and guide dog, and the freedom afforded the blind person is immeasurable in terms of quality of life. Training costs for a guide dog, from the moment of birth until it leaves the Center are over $25,000. The blind person receives the guide dog, instruction and regular home visits during the working life of the dog at no charge. The Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind is the only accredited center in the Middle East offering these specific services, free, to any blind Israeli citizen.

Musical Virtuoso and host of CBC’s Vinyl Tap, Randy Bachman is known the world over for his killer guitar hooks, commanding stage presence and over 120 gold and platinum albums. His music has provided a veritable soundtrack of a generation. This year will mark the release of his newest album Heavy Blues, a collection of personal and cathartic Bachman originals featuring contributions from Neil Young, Peter Frampton and the late Jeff Healey.

The Canadian Friends of Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind has been managed for the last seven years by Sara Gabriel. Originally from Peru, Sara regularly speaks to community and school groups about life with a guide dog, and produces the annual fundraiser “Evening of Miracles.” Since joining the organization, Sara has been able to send over $1,500,000 to Israel – equating to 60 Partnerships between a blind or visually impaired Israeli – regardless of race or religion – and a guide dog.
