Ninth Annual 2015 International Classical Guitar Season

András Csáki was born in Budapest 1981, and began to play the guitar at the age of 11. In 1996 he was admitted to the Béla Bartók Conservatory of Music, and in the year of 2002 he continued his studies at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, where he graduated with honors in 2007 and was awarded Doctor of Liberal Arts in 2014. András Csáki was awarded the “Junior Prima Prize” in 2009 and the “Márciusi Ifjak Prize” in 2010, and in 2012 he received a music scholarship by the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music for the 2012-2013 academic year. András’ international career started in 1999 after winning the XXVI “Dr. Luis Sigal International Musical Competition” in Chile. This prestigious contest awarded him a number of concert opportunities, playing in Europe, Canada, Chile, China, India, Japan, Norway, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, and the United States. He has won a number of prizes including first prize in the “51st Tokyo International Guitar Competition” in 2008, in the “42nd Michele Pittaluga Guitar Competition” in Alessandria, Italy 2009, “Nikita Koshkin International Guitar Competition” in Calcutta, India, and the “Julián Arcas International Guitar Competition” La Herradura, Spain. He was awarded second place in the Guitar Foundation of America’s “International Concert Artist Competition” and in the “45th Francesco Tarrega International Guitar Competition” in Spain 2011.
Individual tickets are available online until noon the day of each concert. All other tickets are available at the door – the day of the concert from 7pm. No credit cards, cash or checks only.
Individual tickets are $30 for non-members, and $25 for GuitarSarasota members. You can purchase individual tickets through our online box office.
Student rush tickets are $5 and may be purchased on the day of the concert, at the door from 7:15pm.
