National Museum of Mathematics Presents Provocative New Play
The Mathematics of Being Human
New Play Exploring Mathematics and Art Makes New York Debut
Sunday, March 8 at 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
WHAT: The Mathematics of Being Human is making its New York debut at the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath). This provocative new play explores how and whether mathematics can inspire, or be inspired by, the arts and humanities. Guests will watch the fireworks fly as fractals interact with Shakespeare.
Written by the University of Maryland Baltimore County’s Michele Osherow (English, and dramaturg for Washington DC’s Folger Theatre) and Manil Suri (mathematics professor and author of The Death of Vishnu), this staged reading is directed by Alan Kreizenbeck.
