New York-based artist/producter/songwriter/DJ Penguin Prison (aka Christopher Glover) has premiered his new single “Never Gets Old” this morning (2/10) on CONSEQUENCEOFSOUND.net.
Co-written with Amanda Warner and Peter Wade of the electronic duo MNDR, the song is taken from Penguin Prison’s forthcoming second album LOST IN NEW YORK, due May 5 on Downtown Records. The single is available to purchase now on iTunes: http://smarturl.it/PPNeverGetsOld.

With it’s 90’s grunge inspired distorted guitar stabs and driving bass line, “Never Gets Old” feels like you’re driving 100 MPH inside of a video game. Says Chris, “The brand new thing isn’t always better than what you’ve been using for many years. This song is dedicated to everything that never goes out of style that you can do a million times and never get tired of.”
Last October, Penguin Prison released “Calling Out,” the album’s lead single co-written with DJ/production duo Oliver, on IDOLATOR.com (10/14). The first official release since his self-titled debut, “Calling Out” was the product of divine creative inspiration: it was both conceived and recorded in the span of a single day at Oliver’s studio in Los Angeles. SPIN.com has noted of the track (10/14), “A huge welcome comeback….Hits all the pop pleasure centers.”
Penguin Prison’s self-titled debut album garnered substantial critical acclaim across both mainstream and indie media: ROLLINGSTONE.com cited his “excellent” songwriting and “sleek, modern production style [that] recalls Phoenix, Scissor Sisters and Hot Chip,” while SPIN.com called the album, “one of the catchiest concoctions” (10/14) and KCRW said he’s “so damn good.” Since releasing his debut LP, Chris has been praised by BBC for “turning out immaculate remixes for Marina and the Diamonds, The Temper Trap and Dirty Vegas…” as well as for his DJ sets with live vocals which have been described as “some of the most engaging on the Williamsburg scene” by the New York Times.
