Selby Library will close at 2 p.m. on Jan. 14, and when it reopens at 6 p.m., party goers will be treated to performances by musicians and performance artists as well as exhibits by artists and authors. While enjoying the entertainment guests can sample delicious bites from some of Sarasota’s finest restaurants along with a full cash bar.
Tickets are $25 in advance and can be purchased at the Friends of the Selby Public Library Bookstore or $30 on the evening of the event at the door. All proceeds will benefit youth programs at the Selby Public Library.
“This is a ‘Peoples Gala’ at a low cost, with high energy entertainment, great tasty bites, casual-social event that supports the great youth and teen programs in the Selby Public Library,” said Kenney DeCamp, president of the Friends of the Selby Public Library.
The Friends provide support for materials, services and programs not covered by Sarasota County taxes. The all-volunteer group also operates the Friends of Selby Public Library Bookstore, underwrites enrichment programs and advocates for libraries at local, state and national levels.
