Tomorrow at Soldier Field’s United Club, the office of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the Chicago Park District and the Coca-Cola Company will host the 2014 Youth Success Fair for teens and young adults aged 13-24. This free event will offer information on ways for young people to become involved in their local park, including summer employment, volunteerism and teen leadership programs.

“The Park District offers so much more than recreational opportunities that help keep our kids active and healthy,” said Mayor Emanuel. “This event will help young people learn about the Park District employment, volunteer and leadership opportunities that can help youth develop life skills and achieve success.”

The event will feature booths offering information about Park District employment opportunities, educational opportunities  from colleges and universities that offer in the field of parks and recreation, and a teen lounge featuring information about teen-based park programming. Workshops focusing on money management, resume writing, and mock interviews will also be offered.

“This event reaches out to the future leaders of our city, and the Chicago Park District is proud to make those resources and tools available, said Park District General Superintendent and CEO Michael P. Kelly. “It’s a free event that is open to all, putting our youth on the path to success.”
