NEW YORK (November 13, 2014) – Trey Songz is no stranger to breaking records, but today’s was a first: Songz took the Dow to an all-time high. The superstar entertainer rang the NYSE’s closing bell on Thursday, November 13th, a day that saw The Dow Jones industrial average rise to a record close of 17,652.79. He did so to celebrate his 4th annual Angels with Heart Month. Songz, who will celebrate his 30th birthday this month, is counting down the days during this year’s Angels with Heart Month by doing at least one act of kindness per day, and he is encouraging his fans to do the same. Today’s act, ringing the NYSE closing bell, was in partnership with the Food Bank for New York City to increase awareness of its good work.

“It was such a thrill to participate in something as prestigious as ringing the NYSE closing bell,” Songz says. “I am honored to partner with both the NYSE and the Food Bank for New York City to feed those in need as I continue my #Trey30Acts campaign during Angels with Heart Month.”

About Trey Songz:

Over the past ten years, no one has better blended the sounds of hip-hop, R&B and soul better than the Grammy-nominated international superstar Trey Songz. Songz released his sixth studio album TRIGGA this summer, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard top 200. Combined, this Virginian powerhouse has sold more than 20 million albums and singles and, in addition to his powerhouse status as a musician has starred in several major motion pictures. The late Ahmet Ertegun, founder of Atlantic Records, once professed Trey to be “among the most promising R&B artists we have had on Atlantic since we started the company 60 years ago,” and so far he is sticking true to just that.
