Google Play announced today an updated version of Google Play Music that features their first integration with Songza, a company that Google Play acquired this summer that offers expert curated music stations based on what you are doing.
Google Play has added Songza’s “concierge” music feature to the Google Play Music subscription streaming service. The concierge feature anticipates what you’re doing at a given time and gives you an expert curated playlist for the activity. Now, you’ll be prompted to pick a radio station for any mood, activity or time of day.
For Google Play subscribers, it’s easy to use. Simply open up the app and you’ll be prompted to play music based on the time of day, mood or activity. So if you’re in a great mood, there’s a playlist for that. If you’re grocery shopping, there’s a playlist for that. The stations are handcrafted by Google Play’s team of music experts (DJs, music critics, musicians, etc.)
