SEPF is delighted to announce Alexander Kobrin, internationally acclaimed pianist born in 1980 in Moscow, Russia. Kobrin was named by BBC Russia as the “Van Cliburn of today”, putting him in the front row of musicians of his generation. Mr. Kobrin began playing the piano at the age of 5 and in the same year he was enrolled in the world-famous Gnessin Special School of Music. He is top prize winner in many competitions including Gold Medalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.

Joyce YangSEPF is honored to announce Joyce Yang. A pianist lauded for “poetic and sensitive pianism” (Washington Post) and a “wondrous sense of color” (San Francisco Classical Voice), she captivates audiences across the globe with her virtuosity, lyricism, and magnetic stage presence. At just 27, she has established herself as one of the leading artists of her generation through her innovative solo recitals and collaborations with the world’s top orchestras.

Colafelice

SEPF is excited to announce rising star Leonardo Colafelice. At just 18 years of age, he has earned prizes in numerous competitions including the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv, Cooper International Competition and Gina Bachauer Young Artists International Piano Competition, among others.

Festival Alumnus Performs with South Carolina Philharmonic

 

On October 11th at 7:30 PM at the Koger Center for the Arts, Hugo Kitano, winner of the 2013 Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition at the Southeastern Piano Festival, will perform Beethoven’s 3rd Piano Concerto as the featured soloist with the South Carolina Philharmonic  Kitano, 19, is from San Francisco and won the U.S. Chopin Foundation Scholarship Competition each year from 2010 to 2012.
