Today (9/8), FLYLEAF—the five-piece, multi-platinum alternative rock band—have partnered with Yahoo! Music to exclusively premiere the band’s fourth studio album BETWEEN THE STARS, out September 16 via Loud & Proud Records. You can listen HERE. FLYLEAF recorded the album—12 songs rooted in powerful vocal melodies, driving bass and drums along with bold guitar work that create a heavy, hypnotic soundscape throughout—in Los Angeles with producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Bullet For My Valentine, Avril Lavigne). BETWEEN THE STARS is available for pre-order on iTunes HERE and Amazon HERE.

KRISTEN MAY tells Yahoo!, “we explored the idea of the attraction or magnetism you can feel with someone you love; how incredibly powerful that force of nature can be. Even if you’re apart, you still feel them as if they are right by your side. They can fill up the dark parts in you. They remind you why you’re living, make you happier than anyone else and inspire you with a glance. It’s pretty incredible when you realize the power we have to love and be loved as humans and how we can feel so drawn or attracted to that object of our affection. It’s a gift.” SAMEER BHATTACHARYA adds, “the creation of Between The Stars was exhilarating and emotional. We delved uninhibited into the music and lyrics realizing the awesome empowerment and releasing the heavy burdens that lie hidden in deep corners of our hearts.”

FLYLEAFKRISTEN MAY (vocals), SAMEER BHATTACHARYA (guitars), JARED HARTMANN (guitars), PAT SEALS (bass), JAMES CULPEPPER (drums)—recently announced their national fall tour which will launch Friday, October 3 in Lubbock, TX. The trek, with opening acts Ryan White and Lullwater, will hit the Gramercy Theater in New York City on Thursday, October 16 and the House of Blues in Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 4 before wrapping Friday, November 7 in San Diego, CA. Tickets are on-sale now. For the full tour itinerary and more information including where to purchase tickets, visit: www.flyleafmusic.com/tour.

The music video for the album’s first single “Set Me On Fire”—directed by Noel Maitland (Speechless, Kings of Summer) and shot in an abandoned warehouse in downtown Los Angeles—recently premiered on Billboard.com along with a Q&A you can read HERE. Watch the video for “Set Me On Fire” HERE.

EARLY PRAISE FOR BETWEEN THE STARS:

“Flyleaf enter a new stratosphere altogether with their majestic fourth full-length offering Between the Stars. It’s heavy at all the right moments, but the songwriting advances light years, yielding some of the band’s biggest anthems to date. Moreover, the instrumentation stands out as eloquently spacey and soaring, bringing a robust energy to each musical moment. Kristen May also delivers an undeniably powerful, passionate, and poetic performance throughout. Go Between The Stars with Flyleaf—it’s precisely where hard rock should be heading.”

–Rick Florino, ARTIST DIRECT, September 4, 2014

“…more than an alternative album, Between The Stars takes you on a sonic journey. One that tastefully fuses a heavy, hypnotic landscape with infectious pop melody.”

–James Wood, AXS.COM, August 27, 2014

“It is quite apparent when listening to the new album that a lot of heart and soul went into its’ creation. Flyleaf truly let it all out with this album and out of the 12 songs that make up Between The Stars it was difficult to find one that wasn’t up to speed… songs such as ‘Thread’, ‘City Kids’, and the albums closer ‘Home’ truly showcase May’s ability as a singer. Her vocals echo so much emotion that the listener can literally feel the music when listening…the band has the uncanny ability to create a hard and heavy album without losing a certain level of pop sensibility that is just astounding…on Between The Stars there is sure to be a track (or more) that connects emotionally with the listener and the band has done a phenomenal job with their latest effort.”
