The Morse provides numerous free opportunities to enjoy the collection. A list of the events follows. Attached is a high-resolution image of the parrots window, c. 1903, by J & R Lamb Studios from the exhibition Revival and Reform—Eclecticism in the 19th-Century Environment opening October 21. 

 

 

Friday, October 10, noon Friday Brown Bag Matinee. The Private Life of a

Masterpiece: Pablo Picasso: Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (49 minutes). Jeannette G. and Hugh F. McKean Pavilion, 161 West Canton Avenue (just behind the Museum). Free.

Friday, October 17, noon Friday Brown Bag Matinee. The Private Life of a Masterpiece: Gustav Klimt: The Kiss (49 minutes). Jeannette G. and Hugh F. McKean Pavilion, 161 West Canton Avenue (just behind the Museum). Free.

 

Tuesday, October 21, 9:30 a.m. Exhibition Opening. Revival and Reform—Eclecticism in the 19th-Century Environment.

More than 20 leaded-glass windows and selections of art glass, pottery, and furniture that illustrate the rich diversity of styles that made up the aesthetic environment of the late 19th century in both Europe and America. The installation features a number of objects which have never been exhibited. The windows on view—some avant-garde, others reviving the past—include examples by J. & R. Lamb Studios, Tiffany Studios, John LaFarge, Frank Lloyd Wright, Edward Burne-Jones, Donald MacDonald, and Heaton, Butler & Bayne.

The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art is located at 445 N. Park Ave.,

Winter Park, Florida. Museum hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and Saturday; 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 adults, $4 seniors, $1 students, free for ages younger than 12. All visitors receive free admission from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays, November through April.
