Venice Theatre seeks actors for first fall internship

(Venice, FL)  Venice Theatre is expanding its internship program.  With generous support from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Venice Theatre is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Acting Internship Program.  Venice Theatre, now entering its 65th season, is looking for recent college graduates and emerging theatre professionals who are actively pursuing a career in professional theatre to fill a limited number of internship openings.  Internships will run from mid-September 2014 through March 2015.

This internship program is designed to give valuable hands-on experience and mentorship to aspiring actors, bridging the gap between academic theatre and practical professional experience.  Acting interns will also be encouraged to explore beyond the stage to gain insight, knowledge and practical experience in all aspects of theatre.

Venice Theatre began a summer internship collaboration with Berea College (Berea, KY) in 2012.  Fall 2014 will launch the first expansion to include students from around the country for fall and spring.

With the expansion, the selected interns will have performance opportunities at Venice Theatre, on both stages.  They will also help build and spread outreach efforts to our surrounding community, particularly Senior Communities and area schools.

The internship is 6 months and will include housing and a stipend.  For more information and to apply contact Allan Kollar, Producing Director, at [email protected]
