CITY WINERY PRESENTS SPANISH FLAMENCO PRODUCTION EVISCERART

AWARD-WINNING JAZZ-FLAMENCO TRIO PERFORMS ENCORE CHICAGO MATINEE SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 AT 2 PM

(August 19, 2014) –After raves and sell-out performances at last spring’s Chicago Flamenco Festival, music and dance trio EviscerArtbrings its award-winning Spanish jazz-flamenco production to the West Loop for a Sunday matinee. The performance is Sunday, Sept. 21, 2 p.m. at City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street.  Tickets, $25 general admission, go on sale Thursday, August 21 at noon at 312-733-WINE (9463) or at www.citywinery.com/chicago/.

The award-winning Spanish flamenco production EviscerArt – starring dancer Vanesa Aibar, guitarist Eduardo Pachecoand pianist and singer Cristian de Moret – debuted this spring at the Chicago Flamenco Festival to two sold out audiences and standing ovations. In this production, three minds work together to bring traditional flamenco with jazz highlights, culminating in the purist of sounds in final piece “El Silencio” (Silence), the work that won Second Prize for Solo Choreography at the XXI Flamenco Choreography Competition of Madrid.

Dance International Magazine says:

EviscerArt is “Fresh and original”

Aibar’s “style is modern and representative of how flamenco is evolving in the hands of a younger generation of artists.”

Aibar “shines not just because of her impeccably honed flamenco skills, but also because of the poetic and uniquely authentic nature of her choreography.”

All City Winery Chicago events are open to all ages.
