TEXAS RANGERS TO HOST JAPAN AMERICA FRIENDSHIP NIGHT

FOR THIS EVENING’S GAME WITH TAMPA BAY

 

Arlington, Texas – The Texas Rangers will host Japan America Friendship Night this evening when the club plays the Tampa Bay Rays at 7:05 p.m. at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

 

The honorable Nozumu Takaoka, Consul-General of Japan in Houston, will attend tonight’s game and will participate in the ceremonial first pitch ceremony. A number of other dignitaries will also be in attendance this evening.

 

Students involved in the Fort Worth Sister Cities Program (11 each from Nagaoka, Japan and Fort Worth) as well as a group of Young Ambassadors who have just returned from a trip to Sendai, Japan, will participate in a pre-game on-field flag ceremony. The Japanese Drum Groups Dallas Kiyari Daiko (centerfield above visiting bullpen) and Dondoko Taiko (outside Southwest First Base Gate) will perform at Globe Life Park from 5:45-6:30 p.m.
