Elizabeth Fisher of Selah Freedom Nominated
for Tampa Bay Business Woman of the Year
Local nonprofit CEO and President is a finalist for prestigious award
SARASOTA, Fla. – August 11, 2014 – Elizabeth Fisher, CEO of Selah Freedom, was recently named by The Tampa Bay Business Journal as a finalist for this year’s Business Woman of the Year award. Tampa Bay’s top female executives will be recognized for their success and achievements when the winners are announced on August 22 at the Hilton Downtown Tampa.
This is the award’s 10th anniversary and 50 local business women have been chosen in nine different categories. Fisher was nominated in the non-profit/social services group.
“It is such an honor to be a finalist for this award. I am so grateful that my work and passion is recognized by the greater Tampa Bay area,” stated Fisher.
Since 2011, Fisher has built Selah Freedom into a strong organization in order to raise awareness for the growing national issue of human sex trafficking and provide victims a safe place to stay and seek restorative care. The organization offers a recovery program which includes support groups, counseling, life-skills training, and job placement. The organization has raised close to half of a million dollars in its first fiscal year.
